Charity Event

It's been a long time since I have blogged. I am currently at home nursing day three of a sore throat and was awake at 2am this morning coughing and spluttering eugghh. I am taking a day of rest from college as year one of the BA Contemporary Textiles degree is nearly over and thought I would make use of the day by atleast accomplishing one thing on my long to do list: KIAB Blog yay!

KIAB has had a lot of interest of late and a few wholesale orders are being requested, one being as far as North Hollywood - just waiting on feedback! We have been involved in a couple of mini fashion show charity events, one being a eco show in Tiger Tiger and the other for a friend of mine in Pembrokeshire in aid of the Harriet Davies Trust. I would like to say thank you to my Models for the evening, who did an amazing job. So thank you to Charlotte and Tiffany (who have modelled for me once before) and to Tyler, Megan and Felicty. Hope you liked your gifts ; ). From the Tiger Tiger event we had a write up by a Fashionista website site in New York and a couple of sales followed.

So now I will have a little more time on my hands to devote to marketing and preparing a new range for the Welsh Designers show in October. This time it will be using more organic fabric and also some upcyled and recycled designs, and watch out for some of KIABs own prints! Colonial Eastern designs in knickers, tops, bikins and little dresses ensue in a mix of exotic eye catching colours.

Straight from the Welsh Designers Show to completing a new order. Everything pink for GirlzNPink - which I have just finished! phew! The packaging has just arrived and will post off tomorrow. My to do list in my head is about to explode, I need to offload and upload! Website update, twitter update, blog update, college work, hotel work, make purses, send knickers the Gallery in Narberth and marketing marketing marketing!!! Also preparing for Little Luxuries Xmas Market in Narberth on the 19th. Its go go go!!!

Hello,

Its that certain time of the year again and this year I have given myself too many tasks. I am studying, again, this time contemporary textiles and loving it. I can't wait until I am at the point where I can actually produce my designs with my very own fabric: knit, weave and print !!! But for now I am still working on designs and preparing orders for Xmas as well as producing and finalising pieces for the Welsh Designers show next week.

The theme of the show is Pink City Butterfly Catcher. Gemstone inspired silk knickers coupled with butterfly accessories, plus my new everyday range UK Girl with a little bit of my late winter collection Punk Princess.

The UK Girl collection will be for sale in two weeks in selected boutiques and online. They will be available packaged as Xmas Tree baubles for the festive season. So hang them on trees, the fabrics will look beautiful - will they guess?

So now back to the sewing in my last attempt to finalise everything. Will be back after the 27th to let you know how it goes, hopefully with pictures. Then it will be head down producing mood boards and essays for the 14th December, producing last minute Xmas items including purses and bags with one final fling at the Little Luxuries Xmas market on December 19th - excited that I may be sharing my stall with a fab accessory designer who is currently producing a range for Laura Ashley.
